Our family share our home in Melbourne with Obedience, Tracking ,Conformation “show” and Dual Chamions, but foremost, they are our loved companions. Jan is currently President of The Dobermann Club of Victoria and has served on their committee for over 15 years and a member for 25 plus years. At the AGM in 2013 Jan was given the honour of a "Life Membership" to which she truly treasures.
The following is a brief outline of how we became involved in these great breeds.
The first Dobermann came into our life back in 1986 as I wanted an intelligent dog that I could train in obedience. Myshka came home at 9 weeks of age and there began the journey with this beloved breed.
We attended the Berwick Obedience Dog Club, where I then began an instructors’ course and instructed at the club for many years and still a member today, over 25 years. We have had a few obedience dogs along the way, obtaining various Titles all of which have had their own little personalities to adore. Jan's first Show dog, Shaynae was purchased from the Coppertop Kennel and this began our life in the show ring.
Our first"Desyred" litter was in 2002 Both Dylan and Ebony were from the Howqua Kennel. Both of these dogs were shown sparingly and trained in Obedience. 8 lovely, healthy puppies were born. I found it so hard to send them off to their homes, I cried for days and promised myself not to breed again for a long time. To date I love getting updates of how they are going, photos and Christmas cards are always lovely to receive.
The main man came into our lives in 2003 - Howqua Cactus Cash, aka “Bozz”. I never knew a dog could steal your heart, like he did. He was the love of my life and one I will never forget. He won Baby, Minor, Puppy and Junior, Aust Bred Classes in Specialty Shows. He titled easily and was a good obedience dog also. Sadly Bozz passed away in 2010 but I know he will always be watching over us.
We continue on with the journey, with Caslero Black Jewel – AKA “Summa”. Summa was shown as a youngster, as I do believe this is a great place to socialise your dogs. They get to see all different types of dogs and are handled by various age people. Summa achieved various wins, including a Minor In Show. She is still doing obedience at 7 plus years of age and loves showing off for friends on how clever she is.

In March 2010 from Sanni arrived - Dobenaire Blood Diamond. Well this girl is an absolute dream to live with. Her great temperament and personality wins hearts wherever we go. Sanni became an Australian Champion very quickly and such a fun girl to show. At the Dobermann Club of Victoria Specialty in 2010, Sanni was awarded Best In Specialty Show. This was a magic day as Summa also achieved her Novice Title in Obedience.
